4, Corruption

1) the corruption of the sons of God

  Gn.6:1 When men began to increase in number on the earth and daughters were born to them,
  Gn.6:2 the sons of God saw that the daughters of men were beautiful, and they married any of them they chose.
  Gn.6:3 Then the LORD said, "My Spirit will not contend with man forever, for he is mortal; his days will be a hundred and twenty years."
  Gn.6:4 The Nephilim were on the earth in those days--and also afterward--when the sons of God went to the daughters of men and had children by them. They were the heroes of old, men of renown.

The fall of Cain's descendants as early as he left God (Gn.4: 16-24), not to mention further, even to the descendants of Seth, who was early godly (Gn.5: 6-31) was gradually united with the sins of Cain's descendants. The LORD saw how great man's wickedness on the earth had become, and that every inclination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil all the time(Gn.6:5).

   Although the sons of God entered the daughters of men, gave birth to children, became warriors, and became nobles of antiquity, even though God had given them 120 years of probation, no one would return, In a state of God lamented it (ver. 6) and determined to purify the whole earth with water of judgment, and planned to bring forth a new work of redemption with Noah (ver. 7, 8).

 2) But Noah found favor

     in the eyes of the LORD(Gn.6:8).

  When He broke out great Flood of God's righteous judgment on fallen mankind, After the Fall of Adam in Eden.  Noah and his family of the righteous and beloved of God were saved. Since the creation of heaven and earth, the greatest event in mankind, chapter 6-9, is the beginning part.
  While describing the event of the judgment of mankind through the Flood, the long description of the salvation of the family of Noah shows that God was more concerned with the salvation of the family than the judgment of mankind. What is the reason? In order to prevent mankind from guilty of the loss of spiritual privileges as beings of divine image and deprived of human sins, they will first be exterminated.  He chose Noah for the preservation of the holy seed that born of a woman who has already promised (Gen. 3: 15), and specifically directed him to build the ark.

  In contrast to the sinful evils of the world at that time, Noah was a godly man who walked with God (Gn.6: 9).
  Before God destroyed all, commanded Noah to build an ark.  And It is recorded(vv.13-22) that Noah's family and Noah did everythng as  God commanded Noah to build an ark to preserve all the creatures that would form the foundation for the new world after Flood judgment.
 Thus, the text shows the terrible consequences of sin in the coming and coming generations by foretelling that God will judge righteously in this sin-contaminated world in a state of irreparability (2 Peter 2: 5, 6). .
 2Pt. 2:5 if he did not spare the ancient world when he brought the flood on its ungodly people, but protected Noah, a preacher of righteousness, and seven others;
 2Pt.2:6 if he condemned the cities of Sodom and Gomorrah by burning them to ashes, and made them an example of what is going to happen to the ungodly;
  We should not understand the text merely as a prediction of God's strict judgment on sin. For God never forgets the protection of the chosen, even in the righteous judgment of human sin.
 Hb.11:7 By faith Noah, when warned about things not yet seen, in holy fear built an ark to save his family. By his faith he condemned the world and became heir of the righteousness that comes by faith.
 2Pt.3:6 By these waters also the world of that time was deluged and destroyed.
 2Pt.3:7 By the same word the present heavens and earth are reserved for fire, being kept for the day of judgment and destruction of ungodly men.
